Cisco Senior Supply Base Engineer, Meraki - Electrical Component in Taipei, Taiwan

We are seeking a Supply Base Engineer who will work with our EE commodity suppliers, JDM partners, and Meraki engineers to source and manage EE components with the goal of maintaining Meraki’s new product development, quality, and supply goals across our diverse product families.

Supply Base Engineer for Electrical Components

Your work will involve:

  • Support Sourcing Managers and Hardware PMs with supplier sourcing initiatives, supplier qualifications RFQ and drive continuous improvement

  • Supply base engineer to provide technical expertise of alternate sourcing strategies and industry market trends

  • Provide assessments of supplier product technology, manufacturing, and quality control capability

  • Support all engineering or quality related issues, including but not limited to root cause analysis and working with supplier technical/quality teams

  • Generate new part numbers and manage ECNs, MCNs and PCNs through Agile PLM

  • Drive suppliers and collaborate with the Quality Team and JDMs for electrical component qualifications and manage the progress. This can include review, verification and approval of test data and reports

  • Manage and monitor all electrical component quality from NPI, MP to EOL

  • 20%+ international travel; primarily to Asia

You have:

  • BS/MS or equivalent in Electrical Engineering

  • Minimum of 10+ years of experience as electrical component engineer, supply base engineer or ASIC design engineer

  • Strong knowledge of electrical component requirements and technologies, willing to develop new commodities and evaluate alternate sources

  • Self-motivated, focused and hands-on individual for problem solving and task completion

  • Experience with Agile or a similar PLM environment

  • Experience working with Asian-based contract manufacturers and component suppliers

  • Good oral and written communication skills

  • Good project management and data collection skills

  • Ability and desire to work in a fast-paced, highly cross-functional environment

  • Detail oriented and driver of continuous improvement

  • Ability to travel internationally 20% of the time
