What You'll Do
We are expanding the Tail-f engineering team at Cisco in Stockholm and this opening is for a senior Erlang developer/technical leader.
As a senior software engineer, you have good technical knowledge and work both independently and within the team to solve complex tasks, implementing and solving problems in our Erlang platform. As a technical leader, you are expected to drive feature development and research by actively engaging in requirements discussions with internal and external clients and colleagues to assure clear and sound requirements, suggest technical options and be responsible for executing within the team and in collaboration/coordination with other teams.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Development and architectural ownership of core Erlang components and features
Development and troubleshooting of product components
Deliver high-quality code that is both tested and testable
Have a pragmatic mindset
Analyze and solve complex problems as a part of a brilliant team
Requirements gathering and clarification of new feature requests
Coach and guide junior team members
Make presentations and participate in workshops.
Occasionally visit customers
Who You'll Work With
The team, coming from Cisco's acquisition of Tail-f, consists of very experienced and passionate engineers with long backgrounds within computer science and functional programming.
The team is responsible for the development of network automation products, written mostly in Erlang, with parts in C:
NSO: industry-leading software for automating services across traditional and virtualized networks.
ConfD: a powerful management agent software framework for network elements, driving the industry towards network programmability using NETCONF and YANG Network Configuration Protocol and data structure.
Who you Are
Master degree in Computer Science or the equivalent
Minimum 10 years experience in Erlang or functional programming on a product or system in production
Experienced in Unix/Linux development
In depth computer science knowledge
Experience from non-functional programming paradigms
Be comfortable around Makefiles, shell scripts, Python, C
Experience from databases and distributed databases
Experience from network engineering
Compiler and programming language knowledge and implementation experience
The applicant should be able to work and communicate in English. Swedish is a plus but not required.
