Cisco VIC Storage Driver Developer in San Jose, California

What You'll Do

Essential to the role are the capability and the will to learn, understand, implement, improve, explain, promote Cisco VIC based innovative networking and/or storage technologies. Responsibilities of this job include design and development responsibilities in at least one of the following areas:

  • Device driver for converged storage networking adapter on Linux

  • Storage protocols - FC, FCoE, NVMEoF (FC), SCSI etc

  • High Performance and low latency IO systems

  • PCI Express based Converged Network Adapter

  • Interfacing with Linux kernel storage stack

  • Data Center Networking

Who You'll Work With

Be part of the VIC team in Cisco UCS organization team that is driving the evolution and expansion into cloud computing. Innovate new methodologies and create scalable software solutions that help build next generation data centers. The ideal candidate demonstrates a deep I/O technical and implementation focus. Broad knowledge of and exposure to embedded systems, sever architecture and networking software development are important for success in this role.

Who You Are

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelors + 7 years of related experience, or Masters + 4 years of related experience, or PhD + 1 year of related experience

  • Five plus years of experience working on device driver with C Programming

  • Hands on Experience in storage protocols - FC, FCoE, NVMeOF(FC), SCSI

  • Experience in Kernel level programming concepts such as multi-threading, synchronization, direct memory access and interrupts

Preferred Qualifications

  • Embedded/Firmware experience with Converged Network Adapters or Host Bus Adapters

  • OpenShift/CoreOS experience or knowledge

  • Knowledge or experience in storage switches or arrays

  • Experience or knowledge in PCIe

  • Experience in device driver development for Converged Network Adapter/Host Bust Adapter on Linux or similar OS
