What You’ll Do

As a Sr. Software Business Strategy Manager, you will be responsible for leading software business model transformation for Enterprise Networking Business. You will lead software monetization strategy, which may include market assessment / segmentation, portfolio analysis, software consumption models (transactional, enterprise agreements, managed services contracts), hardware / software pricing, promotional offers, subscription renewals strategy, operational scalability and consistency and recommending competitive game play strategies. This role has high visibility and deep involvement from the senior leadership within Cisco.

The business strategy team reports to the SVP Product Management for Enterprise Networking. You will work closely with product management teams, sales, customer experience, finance and operations team to develop a well-thought out software strategy.

Who You Are

You are a seasoned expert who lives and breathes software subscription / SaaS business models. You have worked for enterprises that have transformed their business model into software subscriptions and operated at scale. You have a keen eye for detail and thoughtful, data driven approach to building hypothesis prior to drawing conclusions. You have the ability to lead through influence in order to get buy-in across the organization. You excel in transitioning from strategy formulation to execution, and can communicate your recommendations and plan of action in simple yet effective way to senior leadership.

Minimum requirements:

  • Experience in high-tech industry with significant experience around software subscriptions, SaaS business model, pricing / packaging, renewals etc

  • Thorough understanding of enterprise licensing agreements, managed services license agreements and other offer constructs

  • Management Consulting / Strategy background focused on software projects helpful

  • MBA from a top tier program

  • Strong analytical / business modeling skills

  • Strong leadership, presentation and written / verbal communication skills

  • Excellent teamwork and people skills

  • Prior networking experience helpful but not required
