The Cloud Security group within SBG focuses on developing cloud-delivered security solutions (SaaS-based) in a platform-centric approach. This group is an autonomous group within the business group and operates like a Startup to nurture innovation in a highly innovative and high-growth domain. This group was formed a year back by combining some of the existing cloud assets Cisco had with two hugely successful acquisitions - OpenDNS. Our vision is to build the most complex security solutions in a cloud-delivered way with utmost simplicity - change the industry's thinking around how deep and how broad a security solution can be while keeping it easy to deploy and simple to manage. We are at an exciting stage of this journey with 100% YoY growth, and looking for a passionate, innovative, and committed engineering leader for our Product Engineering group to help us scale our business.

We have a highly scalable cloud infrastructure spread across 40+ data centers where we run our cloud security applications that operate at an extensive scale - 100B+ requests per day from 65M daily active users.

What You'll Do

  • Partner with multi-functional teams within both engineering, product management, and field teams to lead the technology direction and facilitate key technical decision points.

  • Collaborate with multiple engineering groups within Cisco to drive E2E solutions enable using of technologies and help in FedRAMP certification.

  • Work closely with Product leads to drive product and technology strategy with an approach of continuous improvement and making in to the DNA of the team.

  • Build a culture of execution excellence coupled with innovation.

  • Building a team of dedicated and passionate leaders as we scale our agile and lean practices, DevOps culture. You will be working on improving out iterative customer feedback-based development that are key aspects of our culture.

  • As a Leader you will be working as part of a technically skilled team to lead, develop, and maintain critically important components and features, running on a public cloud.

Who You Are

  • Professional software development experience in C, Python, and Go (Nice to Have)

  • Strong technical expertise in cloud technologies and cloud architectural patterns. Key technology areas include HTTP/HTTPS, API services, Containerization, Micro-services, Application monitoring, and Elastic scaling.

  • Sound technical depth - ability to go deep into technical architecture and design when needed to solve a complex problem.

  • Strong engineering delivery and execution track record using agile continuous deployment process

  • Proven leadership skills in building leadership talent pipeline coaching/mentoring, collaboration beyond boundaries, managing without authority, and leading change.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent + 15 years of related experience in Computer Science or related field.

  • Prior experience in designing, analyzing, and fixing large-scale distributed systems.

  • Demonstrable experience in managing a large-scale SaaS service - both development and operations, providing leadership and direction through managers or leads or high level individual contributors.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in building cloud-delivered SaaS-based security solutions

  • Expertise in Security Services in Edge domain - exposure to CASB, Private Access, network or web security technologies and industry trends - firewalls, web security, intrusion detection and prevention systems, and DNS based security

  • Proven skills in leading a high-growth business and scaling engineering teams.

  • Ability to evolve organizational structure to align with long-term initiatives, and build strong "5 ingredients" teams with good comms architecture.

  • Manage technical debt, including long-term technical architecture decisions, and balance product roadmap

  • Growing leaders on the team by providing coaching, mentorship, and growth opportunities

  • Experience building or maintaining Software, Library, and infrastructure hardening to meet FedRAMP, SOC2, or ISO27001 compliance.

  • Masters + 12 years of related experience or PhD + 8 years of related experience in a related field.
