Cisco Lean/Agile Portfolio Manager in RTP, North Carolina

Who we are Cisco’s Customer Experience (CX) organization is one of Cisco’s fastest growing teams, and the Customer & Partner Experience Engineering (CPXE) group is redefining how Cisco delivers value to our customers & partners via our product portfolio. The CX Portfolio Management and Shared Services team is charged with driving continuous alignment, change efficiency, and continuous delivery for CPXE. We are looking for top talent to lead business critical capabilities that will redefine success for Cisco and our customers. What You’ll Do This role is core to Customer & Partner Experience Engineering’s vision and strategy of demonstrating best in class agility, at the enterprise level. The Lean Portfolio Management Team supports this strategy by predictably delivering value to our partners. We dedicatedly prioritize our people, processes, and portfolio with precision and care; enabling our teams to execute flawlessly, aligning on what’s important, and ensuring the right teams are driving the right work. To be successful in this role you should have significant experience as a Technical Program Manager within a Lean Portfolio Management environment and have worked extensively within the Agile Framework. You should be intimately familiar with Capacity Planning, assessing supply and demand of scrum teams to deliver effectively with hyper-realistic options. We fully expect you to leverage more data than hope when making prioritization decisions. You will work across CPXE, CX Portfolio Management, and the broader Customer Experience organization to orchestrate our process for prioritization. Our goal is to optimize our product development portfolio of work by making data-driven decisions on what our team supports. Your efforts will ensure our developers and scrum teams are focused on the highest value work for our customers. You will be seen and recognized as a focused leader of our portfolio and a champion for our teams. Who You'll Work With Residing in the Portfolio Planning & Management Team, this role will blur organizational boundaries to drive business alignment and cohesion in our approaches and practices. Every day and every interaction will be unique, but you will likely engage with a diverse representation of: program managers, engineers, scrum masters, product management and CPXE leadership. Specifically, you will: * Facilitate start/stop/continue efforts, assessing Run-the-Business staffing and value to optimize the appropriate level of funding and staffing; transitioning and EoL’ing areas, where appropriate * Support portfolio planning processes, which is dedicated to prioritization, data-driven decision making, and capacity planning. * Actively participate in monthly portfolio interlocks; capturing issues, decisions, and enabling the execution of action plans between cycles. * Demonstrate a servant-leader approach in providing shared services to our product management and engineering organization. You guide processes and provide white glove governance, when needed. * Drive continuous improvement and automation to enable a high performing teams. * Fervently and energetically threading decisions throughout the team to support capacity planning, analytics, reporting, and data integrity * Establish and nurture a safe space to learn, grow, and be human. Qualifications * 10 years performing various portfolio management roles within agile organizations, preferably in Engineering; with at least, 5 years in a lean-agile PMO or similar capacity. * Experience working in global product development organizations, with a solid understanding of organizational agility, customer value. * You’re an operational and reporting wizard, with strong knowledge of what data matters, how to glean insights and drive recommendations and reporting for an executive audience. * Demonstrated ability to lead through influence in highly matrixed organizations. * Executive presence & credibility * Proven understanding of lean methods and design thinking, with the consistent ability to stay on top of industry trends, emerging practices and technologies. * Certifications as a scrum master, product owner, program manager or equivalent experience.
