What You’ll Do

Now is an exciting time to work with Cisco's Engineering Licensing Office (ELO) as we craft the future of the company's software strategy. Software licensing is one of the top customer satisfaction (CSAT) issues at Cisco today. Our customers and partners find it difficult to consume and activate software due to our complex licensing process with different licensing policies and licensing technologies across our product portfolio.

What you will be responsible for

You will be responsible for working with various Cisco Products teams, helping them integrate into the Smart Licensing ecosystem.

This means you will be troubleshooting software integration issues, determining how best to resolve the problem by fixing issues in the integration environment, and porting features to the integration environment as new functionality is enabled in production. In addition, you will make improvements to the infrastructure overall Alpha integration environment, responding to customers needs.

Who you will Work with

The Engineering Licensing Office performs centralized development for all Customer-prem components of Cisco's new On-Prem/Cloud Hybrid management solutions. We work with every product across every Business Unit at Cisco and provide thought leadership to the company on how best to monetize products. If you have ever wanted a role that touches every product Cisco develops, this is it.

Cisco Smart Licensing has now been mandated as the standard method of monetizing software for all Cisco Products, so there is currently immense growth in both customer and product adoption of our technologies. There is a heavy focus on the overall solution and ensuring that all possible products and all possible routes to market are covered. Now is a period of transition as Cisco becomes a Software Company, providing a rarely seen perfect storm of conditions that will allow for an individual to make a real and lasting impression on the future of Cisco for years to come.

Who you are

You are independent and self-motivated with creative analytical skills. You have excellent written and verbal interpersonal skills and the ability to learn quickly and critically. You love to learn more and are not afraid to learn a new Cisco product or technology in order to make sure that both you and the project are successful.

At a minimum, we require:

  • 5+ years of experience focused on developing/supporting industry standard web technologies, open source technologies

  • BS/BA in Business, Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or equivalent

  • 5+ years in application development.

  • 7+ years development experience with Ruby on Rails framework

  • Must be able to pick up defects, identify, and resolve problems at the System Level.

  • Must be willing and able to fix bugs, RSPEC, and work with other Sr Developers

  • Experience in automated testing including unit and functional testing

Desired Technical Skills:

  • Java/J2EE

  • C

  • RESTful Services

  • MongoDB

  • Knowledge of the Cisco Product Portfolio
