Cisco’s Demo Loan Services group is looking for dynamic supply chain professionals for the position of Global Compliance Manager.

What You'll Do

The Global Compliance Manager is responsible for ensuring service compliance with various country regulations and to liaise with the Cisco Tax and Customs and Export Compliance teams and to position the service for country enablement. The Global Compliance Manager will be responsible for defining processes to ensure external and internal compliance requirements as well as their enforcement with our Partners. The DLS ships about 4,000 Orders/loans per quarter 50% of which are overseas with a list value of approximately $500M.


  • Main responsibilities are to ensure that our import shipments comply with the rules and regulations of the different countries. This covers all facets of import regulatory compliance; working closely with our 3PL Vendors, customs brokers and transportation carriers.

  • Interface across Cisco tax, Legal, Export/Customs compliance, and finance teams to ensure the DLS program has a structure and processes in place that limits Cisco’s financial risk relative to country customs and tax regulations.

  • Validate DLS processes with Cisco’s Global Customs, Tax and Exports teams.

  • Define SOW (Statement of Work) and SOP (Standard Operating Protocol) for the Customs Brokers in different countries where Cisco DLS does business.

  • Enforce that the Partners/Vendors follow the processes.

  • Ensure changing regulations and adjustments to Cisco’s buy-sell entities are integrated into our vendor processes.

  • Support all customs compliance initiatives and competencies, which include the areas of customs entry operations, broker management, classification, valuation, trade programs and agreements, and internal auditing.

  • Manage departmental operating budget. Create KPI to accurately measure and report on Customs compliance-related activities.

  • Define method of importation for demo equipment based on Cisco policies regarding Temporary Import Bonds, Carnets, or Definitive Imports.

  • Define maximum importation duration for demo equipmentbased on destination country’s tax policies.

  • Oversees work of third parties hired to provide Customs compliance-relatedwork.

  • As new Cisco entities are enabled, partner with Tax & Customs team to determine what, if any, modifications are required to current DLS procurement or importation processes to allow continued support of demonstration equipment requests.

  • Engage with the Global Export Trade team to understand compliance requirements and regulationsand implement accordingly in the DLS landscape.

  • Support internal compliance requirements as they arise, few of which are Internal Audit, Global Regulatory Compliance Audit as well as Annual Self-Assessment for certain countries.

  • Good relationship development and cross-functional engagement skills

  • Experience working in Supply Chain Management or Supply Chain Consultancy, especially in international tax and compliance role

  • High-level understanding of EU and US Export and Customs requirements for product compliance, valuation, and classification; understanding of legal business entities

  • Experience managing relationship with Customs Brokers and Logistics providers.

  • Should be a quick learner and self-driven

  • Preferred: Knowledge of tax and customs regulations with regards to temporary and definitive imports

  • Preferred: Understanding of export/import of goods on a temporary basis

Education: Bachelors Degree equivalent in Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Business Administration or related supply chain management field.
