You will be a member of a team of Public Sector Solutions Engineers who collaborate closely with Account Executives to serve our customers and partners. Your Impact

In this role you will gain access to the broad palette of Cisco technologies and applications in a variety of vertical markets. In additional to technological proficiency and the ability to learn quickly and know the latest, you have interpersonal, presentation and problem-solving skills that evoke passion and confidence.

  • Build positive relationships with customers and partners, understand their business models, and find opportunities to position Cisco solutions

  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to customers throughout the sales process

  • Articulate the Cisco's differentiation and benefits, and develop proof-of-concept/proof-of-value demonstrations

  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop technical account plans and influence overall account strategies

  • Advocate for customers and ensure their successful solution adoption and operation

  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and Cisco technologies to provide the best solutions to customers

  • Participate in trade shows, conferences, and industry events to promote Cisco solutions and generate leads

Minimum Qualifications

  • 7+ years of related experience in technical sales or pre-sales roles.

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field or equivalent work experience.

  • Advanced technical skills in areas such as Switching, Wireless, Routing, Data Centers, Security, and Networking Platform Design.

Preferred Qualifications

You tirelessly work to find the most exceptional solutions that tackle a customer's set of challenges. As a Solutions Engineer, you are a customer-focused technical sales professional who provides high-level technical guidance and support. You will work closely with Account Executives to understand customer priorities and needs, recommend appropriate solution offerings, and ensure customer success by leveraging Cisco and partner resources. You are a trusted expert and adviser to partners and customers, providing consultation and driving the adoption of Cisco solutions.

  • Strong understanding of the SLED market segments and their business economics and trends.

  • Excellent knowledge of Cisco products and solutions, as well as competitor offerings.

  • Familiarity with Collaboration, Security, SDN, server, and desktop virtualization is highly sought after.

  • Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex concepts effectively.

  • Cisco certifications (e.g., CCIE) are preferred.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and build strong relationships.

  • Passion for technology and a drive to solve sophisticated challenges.
