Cisco’s UCTG (Unified Collaboration Technology Group), an industry leader in On-Premise Collaboration solutions, is expanding its responsibilities within the Collaboration Technology Group. We work on design, develop & maintenance of Cisco Expressway Series set of products.

We are searching for an experienced, results-oriented Technology champion to be a key member of the engineering team within our user experience led, agile organization. We are seeking a talented individual with meaningful system programming knowledge, application development, who is well versed in the area of software architecture, design and implementation for distributed systems for world’s best collaboration product.

In this dynamic role you will work multi-functionally with software architects for various other areas in the product, and our team of solution level architects to define and maintain the best-in class collaboration application. As part of the engineering team you will:

  • You will work in a team inspired by world-class Agile practices and continuous development methodologies (CD)

  • Collaborate with the wider team to develop and deliver world-class software design for multiple solutions on time and meeting Definition of Done

  • Participate in product backlog development and grooming as a domain expert to achieve the agreed-upon deliverables for a collaboration product in the solution.

  • Maintain The highest level of quality, productivity standards for high performing agile teams

  • Have the ability to think and operate based on the big picture at a solution level

  • Help maintain the technical talent by participating in training plans, skill development.

Who You Are:

  • BS/MS in Technical Communications, Computer Science, or other relevant technical degree and 4-9 years of hands-on industry experience

  • Strong software architectural skills, leading by empowerment and engagement

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, both verbal and written

  • Strong priority management, time management, and analytical skills

  • Ability to define problems, establish facts, and develop logical solutions

  • Ability to foster teamwork and resolve problems expeditiously and positively

  • Experience working in an Agile environment

  • Natural problem solver

Preferred Skills:

  • Software architecture and design experience with Linux based real-time, distributed applications with a very strong knowledge of the internals of Linux , Systems programming, Computer Networking.

  • Highly proficient in technologies like C++, Python

  • Strong knowledge of Architecture, Design, Implementation, Administration, Software security, Performance Tuning, Data Modelling

  • Working experience in resolving customer issues, demand design changes, and address feature/tools gaps.

  • Working knowledge of Jira, and Rally is a plus.

  • Prior understanding and working experience of full stack, end-to-end product architecture, platform, virtualization & docker concepts are highly desired

  • Hands on experience around gcc, gdb, bash, TCP/IP, Crash and Log analysis, Memory analysis, is highly desirable

  • Strong knowledge in Linux kernel, kernel debugging, Linux OS internals, memory management, inter-process communication, threading and all other OS concepts, shell scripting.

  • Ability and passion for learning new technologies, tools, and methods

  • Experience working on Voice and Collaboration applications, experience with VoIP Call Control Applications is a definite plus
