Cyber security of digital national infrastructure is essential to economic prosperity and security, and you can play a key role in the security of Cisco customers, critical networks in India and the APJ Region, and help make the world a safer and more secure place. At the same time, you will be key leader in building customer trust and earning the trust of government security agencies for Cisco. Cisco is looking for an experienced cybersecurity leader to focus on developing and executing Cisco’s trust strategy supporting India as part of the Trust Transformation Office (TTO) Strategic Country Enablement (SCE) program, in the Security & Trust Organization. The global SCE team has the mission of making Cisco the most trusted partner to Government and customers by providing technical cybersecurity leadership, partnership, and advice. You will represent Cisco as the key Security & Trust partner to our India business and as a key member of the regional STO team.

You will drive and lead the technical conversations, be the subject matter expert in your region in regard to everything cybersecurity related that allows for Cisco to position cyber resilient solutions and thought leadership with industry leading cyber security, trust and privacy. You will play a vital role in partnering with in-country teams to develop strategies, cyber submissions and responses to government strategies and customers that earn and maintain their trust in Cisco. You will be recognized as the trusted adviser to govt, business, research and education stakeholders in India that helps shape the national cybersecurity policy agenda identifying key initiatives & actions, while maximizing market access. Best of all, you will have the opportunity to lead the strategic engagement of STO’s 800+ cyber security experts to solve the hardest cyber challenges. You’ll also play a key leadership role with the Cisco India Country Manager, Cisco sales, Cisco Government Affairs, Cisco Legal, Supply Chain and other functions within Cisco.

Who You Are

To be successful, you’ll need to be an outcome focused leader who is tech-savvy, lives and breathes Cyber Security and has experience in product management, technical business development, technical consulting, or technical sales. You must know Cisco’s business and strategy and be able to influence peers, senior leaders and government officials as a technical expert. You will understand national security concerns and will have or be able to apply for a security clearance in your country. The ideal candidate has deep experience in one or more of the areas mentioned below and is passionate about solving real world problems. We are looking for those select few who thrive in uncertain and dynamic environments, can set strategic goals and identify strategic opportunity and drive execution with skill and speed.

Competencies for the cybersecurity adviser india

  • Given that Cybersecurity is a converged paradigm including applications, platforms, products and infrastructure, "proficiency" level knowledge and real-world experience in Enterprise Systems Security will be essential.

  • A background of having developed security reference architectures is desirable. Knowledge of Cisco technology stack necessary and Secure Software Development trends.

  • Some experience working with customers or in consulting pre-sales will be necessary.

  • Knowledge of major cybersecurity vendor solutions, and a competitive understanding of the market, will be useful.

  • Knowledge of regulatory frameworks will be useful- NSDTS, COMSEC, MTCTE, PMA, DPP, ISO 27001, Common Criteria EAL and ITAR will be useful.

  • Ability to obtain a security clearance based on projects or engagements.

  • Ability to lead and guide technical communities within large customer organizations like NIC, Defence Forces and industry will be a key factor in establishing Cisco thought leadership.

  • Understanding the complexities of global supply chains in the technology sector and ability to craft resilience strategies.

  • Develop relationships with peer industry partners and industry associations in the cybersecurity domain; lead engagements with the Govt in placing the industry perspectives in shaping regulation and standards.

  • While the background rests on expertise in cybersecurity and ability to evangelize Cisco architectures, expertise in one or more of the following areas is desirable: mobile device and endpoint security, cloud security, application security, identity management and security operations for large organizations.

  • The idea is that the focus of the STO in India will include set up of nationwide SOC, cyber ranges and similar centres- this will include advisories in these areas as well.

  • Self-motivated, inclusive leader with experience in leading multi-site teams

  • Experienced cybersecurity professional with a minimum of 8+ years of experience in fields such as technical marketing, engineering, or information security

  • Experience in on or more of the following areas: IoT, enterprise/cloud/service provider technology, and/or critical infrastructure.

  • Hands-on experience with a wide range of security technologies

  • Experience with cybersecurity risk assessments and methodologies.

  • CCIE Security, Cisco Cybersecurity Specialist, CISSP, CCSP, or other technical industry certifications is desirable.

  • A background in developing technology architectures, especially infrastructure security, data, and application security.

  • A post-graduate in computer science from a reputed technology institution.

  • A body of publicly known work in an area of national eminence/priority/recognition

  • A multi-disciplinary profile spanning strategy, technology, and cybersecurity policy/standards/governance.
